Located two blocks from The White House, The St. Regis, Washington, D.C. has been a stopping place for royalty, presidents and prime ministers since its opening in 1926. Calvin Coolidge cut the ceremonial ribbon, and every American President since then has visited the hotel. Built in the style of an Italian Renaissance Palace, and richly appointed with European antiques, Louis XVI chandeliers, Palladian windows, and rich damask draperies.

When I was Project Manager for the total renovation of this Historic Landmark, it was called the Sheraton Carlton Hotel. Since Starwood has purchased the Sheraton chain the Hotel has been renamed.
